Reed Braden, a student at Virginia Commonwealth University, bought this ancient Byzantine-era lamp from a licensed antiquities dealer in Israel. The lamp's three-dimensional image was captured using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner in the Virtual Curation Laboratory. The device's software then digitally filled in the interior of the lamp.
