Byzantine Capital Saraçhane Parki Istanbul
myminifactory
Istanbul's capital sits in Saraçhane Parki, where it was captured on June 1st, 2018. Captured now as a place to rest, its 'capital' formed the top of a pillar in St Polyeuktos Church between 330 and 1453, when Constantipole held the Byzantine Empire's capital title. The church crumbled into ruin, with many architectural elements stolen and scattered across Europe. Later, a mosque and homes rose above the church's remains. By 1964, the mosque and surrounding houses were razed, revealing St Polyeuktos' hidden past. Reassembled using Agisoft Photoscan software.
