The Buzludzha Monument House was constructed on the summit of Buzludzha Peak by the Bulgarian communist government. This monumental structure honors the pivotal events of 1891, when a group of socialists led by Dimitar Blagoev gathered clandestinely in the area to establish an organized socialist movement that ultimately gave birth to the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party, a precursor to the Bulgarian Communist Party.
