I am thrilled to present my thesis project at NABA, where I have devoted nearly a year to revitalizing the iconic Bulgarian Buzludzha Monument, an irreplaceable architectural treasure that holds the distinction of being Europe's oldest communist building. Due to neglect, this beloved landmark has begun to show its age and require tender care. This meticulously crafted model reproduces the exacting form and exterior design of the monument with unparalleled precision. Inside, I envisioned two separate exhibition spaces, each boasting distinct and imaginative layouts that cleverly manipulate natural light and artificial illumination. As visitors move through these areas, they will experience an extraordinary visual transition from dawn to dusk, only to be stunned by a striking centerpiece - a flowing stream that passes through the very heart of the structure. My goal is to provide an insightful glimpse into my design process and the inspiration behind this ambitious project, which has the potential to enlighten interior designers worldwide on how to sensitively repurpose historical buildings without sacrificing their inherent character. Throughout this endeavour, I collaborated with exhibition experts and lighting specialists, infusing the work with valuable knowledge that underscores its significance.
