Carved area within outcrop currently situated in private plantation near West Horton, Northumberland. Recorded as 'Buttony 1c' in Beckensall Archive, this carving was added to ERA by Northumberland and Durham Rock Art Project (NADRAP) in 2008. One of several carved bedrock areas found in the plantation, motifs are located on a near vertical surface. They consist of cup and multi-ringed motifs connected by serpentine grooves. Tooling marks can still be seen within some motifs, indicating areas of stone have been covered. ERA record is available at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=84. Historic England group scheduling details are located at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1417674. Model was created from 4 stereos pairs captured using a 5mp Nikon Coolpix 5400 by Kevin Malloy on February 28th, 2007. Imagery forms part of ERA / NADRAP archive; note that there is some data noise in the model.
