Carved outcrop situated within a private plantation, near West Horton, Northumberland. Recorded on the Beckensall Archive as 'Buttony 1a', NADRAP added the carving to ERA in 2008. Stan Beckensall documented a cup with a channel, surrounded by up to six partial rings on one side. The rings are visible in his archive photos from early 1970s, but photogrammetry has not picked out all of them. This is one of several exposures featuring intricate cup and ring designs now set within the plantation. ERA record, with BA: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=83 Historic England group scheduling: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1417674 Model created from a single stereo pair captured using a 5mp Nikon Coolpix 5400 by Kevin Malloy on February 28, 2007. The imagery forms part of the ERA/NADRAP archive. The imagery was captured within a dark plantation resulting in suboptimal photos, hence some noise is visible on the model.
