Button Castle (Stripped down Dactyl Lightcycle)
thingiverse
This is a simplified Dactyl keyboard case, minimalist and easy to print, enough to see if that board fits you perfectly. I tried building a Dactyl (in its Lightcycle form) but was unable to get it right. Cases were warped, legs got crooked, resulting in total failure. So I decided to play with the Clojure file to remove all unnecessary parts and create a simple hull with working surface and some walls only. Behold, the results are impressive. There are holes on the sides, the walls are thin, and it looks ugly as hell, but it's actually quite good. I could put the switches in, wire it up, and have a fully functional board. Despite flimsy walls, there is enough strength overall to make a solid sample build. No, I don't plan to build it further, mostly because of the extra keys in the outer lower row. But someone may find it useful, so here it is. The Clojure file is provided. I imported the results into Fusion 360 to cut down excessive walls. https://a360.co/2KQ4TfL
