Butterfly Pokémon From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Butterfly Pokémon are fully developed, butterfly-like Pokémon that have hatched from their pupal Metapod forms. They resemble a vaguely anthropomorphic butterfly. Unlike true insects, they only have four legs, which are a pale blue color. A nose-like structure is also present, similar in color to the legs. Their body's coloration is a darker purple-blue. Large veined wings are white with black markings that help distinguish male and female individuals. They have large compound eyes, often reddish in color. Butterfly Pokémon feed on honey from flowers, rubbing it onto hairs on their legs to transport back to their nests. Like members of the order Lepidoptera, their wings are covered in fine scales that are water-repellant and allow them to fly in heavy rains, a skill not shared by many other insect Pokémon like Masquerain. Their wings are also coated in toxic dust that can be directed at an opponent through wing-flapping in battle.
