This intricate butterfly masterpiece is comprised of 38 carefully crafted components. Built with durability in mind, it can be constructed from a variety of materials, including cardboard, foamboard, wood, metal, or any other substance that provides sufficient strength and thickness to maintain the structural integrity. Based on a design by an innovative public school educator, this model accurately replicates the original creation. Initially crafted from cardboard, it mirrors the size of an average K-2 student. Suspended from the ceiling of a science classroom, the model boasts six attachment points that securely fasten it in place. The outermost tips of its antennae are also tethered to the ceiling using cotton thread and plastic tape. This comprehensive model showcases all the essential features of a Monarch butterfly, including wings, abdomen, legs, thorax, antenna, head, and proboscis.
