Butterfly Knife Trainer

After scoring some affordable butterfly knives, I decided to take a stab at creating my own 3D printed trainer knives. And check this out - what I've managed to do so far. Of course, it doesn't have the heft of a genuine butterfly knife, but if you're just starting out and looking for a cheap and easy way to get better, this is definitely worth considering. First things first, print everything in 100% infill. This gives better rigidity and weight. You can also print the various parts using different colors to make a really cool-looking trainer knife - as you can see from the pictures, I've done just that. Assembly Everything gets put together by super-gluing the pins into place. After printing the parts, first do a test fit to ensure they all fit together properly before gluing. Assemble it according to the assembly picture, making sure the shorter pins go to the blade. Gluing the pins is pretty straightforward - just be careful not to get any glue on the blade or the handle lock. (You'll probably end up getting some on your hand, but don't worry, it won't kill you.) Only apply glue to the inside of the larger rim of the pins where they rest on the handle. After that, let it set for a few minutes - depending on the type of glue you're using, this might take longer. And then, you'll be ready to become a ninja!
