Butterfly Knife Comb

Butterfly Knife Comb

The "Butterfly Knife Comb" is designed to represent a knife used in the popular CS:GO video game. This was created at the request of a Thingiverse member who wanted something unique. They look great, function surprisingly well as a comb but aren't that realistic they could be confused for the real thing (...which could cause issues!). This is a one piece print. The handles do not move or fold around the blade. This could have been done but, in the interests of ensuring it's not seen as being the real thing, has been kept simple and solid. This also means it is an easy print for anyone with a machine that has a large enough build plate (...if your machine is borderline for printing this at full size try putting it on the build plate diagonally and possibly scaling it down a fraction) This is an easy print that doesn't use much filament. At standard scale the knife is 20cm in length. It should be able to be scaled or down 20 - 30% with no print issues however going too far in either direction may result in functional problems such as the prongs being too thin / weak of too thick to comb well. If you are scaling it, as a suggestion, scale only X and Y (not Z) by the same amounts. This will resize it and retain the shape but leave the prongs the same height. The CS:GO Butterfly Knife Comb is a fun novelty print for your own use as well as making a great gift for gamers who love this popular game. Print in their favorite color. Please post images of your prints so other members can see them... Using a raft is recommended for ease of removal from the build plate as well as ensuring the prongs aren't damaged during the process. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Standard / 0.20mm Infill: PLA / 2 Shells / 25% infill or more to make sure the prongs are strong Notes: Easy print... using a raft is recommended for ease of removal from the build plate plus also to help ensure the prongs are not damaged in the process. Using higher than usual infill is recommended (25% or more) to make sure the prongs are strong so it functions as a comb well. Post-Printing Just remove the raft and comb your hair!
