Butterfly Comb
thingiverse
I designed a comb because I wanted my very own custom balisong, so I came up with a way to make one. It only cost $1 per piece for the materials from homedepot. Assembly You need 8-32 1/2 inch screws and drill out the holes at the top where they will go in. This lets them fit the threads. You should also use #8 washers so that the comb can move freely, costing around $2.60 for 6 screws and 30 washers. Update: I created a longer comb design for anyone who wants to try it out. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: It doesn't matter Supports: No Infill: Between 15% and 100% Notes: I would recommend printing the comb with high infill since it's prone to breaking with heavy use. Adjust the height of the comb based on how much space is needed inside the handles, then lower your print settings slightly to get a flat edge. Edit: I changed the design of the handles from one piece to cutouts because there was an issue where the slicer would bridge the gap halfway across the bed when trying to attach the handle.
