Butterfly Arm Bangle
prusaprinters

I wanted to make something which was a little harder than normal for me to design, so I decided to take some inspiration from nature and make an arm bangle with butterfly wings.

Printing this is a challenge! Well mainly getting the supports off without breaking it is a challenge.

I included custom supports for the band as it tends to wobble otherwise. You might also have to do a little light sanding to make things smooth.

The diameter is 82mm, if your arms are a different size to mine then you can use the included Fusion 360 file to change the user parameters and make it larger or smaller. But be careful when you do this not to have the supports foul the bangle itself, you may need to readjust those.

Print instructions

For FDM:

Print with supports, wings face down, but include a support blocker on the arch of the bangle.

Split into parts and make sure that the support structures are 10% grid infill, and the arm bangle itself is 100% infill.

Some PLA is too brittle and breaks when removing supports, so you might want to try increasing the temperature. Or print in PETG or ABS/ASA which is stronger.

For SLA:

If you have an SLA printer I have included a version without supports so you can add your own.

I can't give you any better instructions as I don't have one!
