Oh yes! A near complete overhaul of the infamous Butter Pig by Steve Weber is underway, with yours truly spearheading the redesign and additions. I'm fortunate to see Steve regularly, allowing him to witness firsthand the transformation that's taking place. Here are some highlights: Fits a full stick of butter with ease! Prints with far less support required Tighter tolerances for improved butter containment Dies are slimmer and can print laying down New Corncob die is introduced Introduction of the knoll shelf, which adds a touch of sophistication to the design A sexier butt is just one of the many improvements made Print Settings: 0.20mm at 20% infill should yield excellent results. The body and butt necessitate support during printing. Screw the tail several times to help smooth out wall and pusher imperfections. It's much tighter than the original, preventing butter blow-by with ease. I've printed several in both PLA & ABS, showcasing its versatility. When working with food-grade plastics is a must, as it comes into contact with edibles. The one featured above utilizes eSUN, SeeMeCNC, and Fillamentum filaments. About the Knoll Shelf: One of the issues that bugged me most about the original design was the amount of space it took up when full. By designing a shelf to hold the pig (and dies) extends overall fridge space and keeps everything tidy. I recommend using alcohol to clean the wall of the fridge where you plan to mount the shelf. The bathroom 3M command strips work great for this task. The shelf can be removed and carried with the pig or left in place for storage. Optional: If you alternate colors on the tail in 15mm segments, it can be treated as tablespoons.
