James River Day School nurtures young minds and inspires students to become accomplished scholars, visionary leaders, and compassionate citizens of the 21st century in an environment that values academic excellence. During club time, students have the freedom to select an activity that sparks their curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. The Morph Club is a prime example of this, as it explores innovative ways to combine tools such as photo editing and 3D design to create something entirely new. At James River Day School, the Morph Club used animals whose names are composed of compound words to design an entire chess set from scratch. One side features land animals, while the other side is comprised of sea creatures. Take, for instance, the bishop of the land, known as the "Butter-fly."
