Butter dish hinged
thingiverse
With milder temperatures, butter no longer liquefies on the counter at room temperature, and that's why I prefer to leave it out in an open container. So, I created a covered dish with a hinged lid for convenience. The small triangular feature is designed for cleaning excess butter off the knife. This dish accommodates a standard 4-ounce butter block, approximately 1.5 x 3.25 x 1.5 inches in size. The bottom section was printed at 80 minutes with 45 grams of ABS filament using Afinia settings (0.3mm Z height, medium speed with a raft). The top took 100 minutes to print and used 50 grams of the same material. Both prints were made according to default Afinia parameters. Files in metric units are included for reference. ABS has sufficient flexibility to allow the top section to slide onto the hinge pins. I'm uncertain about PLA's performance, but it might work fine as well.
