Butter Dish

Butter Dish for Standard 1lb Canadian Butter (65mm x 65mm x 135mm) I strongly dislike the standard low-profile butter dish with its deep lid that fits over it. On a sweltering summer day, leaving the butter out causes it to melt and spread all over the kitchen counter. What's even more frustrating is that everyone seems to design their butter dishes to fit only two-thirds of the height of a 1lb block of butter. The butter gets squished into the inside of the lid as a result. Why do they make them this way? This deep dish holds a standard 1lb block of butter, and if it melts on a hot day or because it's too close to the coffee maker (oops!), it will remain contained. It also stays cleaner since you don't have to carefully maneuver the lid over the dish without bumping the butter. Simply drop the lid on without worrying about hitting the butter. The only use I can see for the standard butter dish is when you're having corn-on-the-cob, but we use a brush to apply butter to our corn-on-the-cob at home, so this deep dish will do just fine.
