Butter Cap

Butter Cap

Butter and bacon just aren't a good match here. This design works seamlessly with one of them, but not the other. Butter readily picks up odors from your fridge and can also oxidize, leaving it tasting off. The exact nature of "off" depends on what you have in your fridge, but trust me, fishy butter is gross. A waxy paper normally prevents this process, but once you peel back the wrapping, it's impossible to seal it again completely. This cap seals the end of the stick, ensuring that the wrapping can't accidentally open and expose the buttery goodness to a rotten onion in your crisper drawer. Currently, this only works for sticks of butter measuring 1.25 inches by 1.25 inches. For Western-style sticks that are 1.5 inches wide, simply scale it up by 120%.
