I couldn't find a burger press that suited me, so I designed one. Before using it, please read the following caution carefully. This press allows you to create an indentation in the center of the patty, which counteracts the swelling that occurs during cooking. There are three interchangeable pieces that fit into the base of the press, giving you the option to choose from flat, moderate, or large indentations. They simply drop into the recessed area of the base. CAUTION! This press is designed for use with waxed paper. Place a sheet between the meat and the bottom plate, and another between the meat and the top plate. There's enough clearance around the edges of the press to accommodate two sheets of waxed paper comfortably. It's a terrible idea to use this without waxed paper or something similar - the small holes in the design are impossible to clean thoroughly, allowing bacteria to multiply rapidly. Don't even get me started on the issue of using food-safe filament.
