Butane gas can base
thingiverse
These butane cans tip over very easily when a torch is mounted to the can. This base stabilizes the top-heavy can, providing it with a sturdy foundation. I found another version made by lowside on Thingiverse. I cook sous vide and bought the torch for searing meats in the kitchen. It's also capable of soldering or other tasks. Butane cans run about $14 at Amazon and elsewhere. You can buy butane for around $2 at Walmart. The base snaps on tight, staying securely attached to the can. ABS has enough flexibility that the tabs bend around the can's edge. I wouldn't know if other filaments have adequate flexibility either. Simply wiggle it gently into place. I used 22 grams of ABS and printed it in 50 minutes at a medium speed with a raft. The Z setting was 0.3mm. A metric file is also available for this project.
