This is one of eight sculptural busts located at the entrance to the second intimate garden that flanks the pavilion or palace that serves as access to the Monforte Gardens in Valencia. The set represents different philosophers, writers, and poets who rest on small pedestals in a semicircular iron railing that surrounds the so-called Patio of the Lions, the entrance portal to the Old Parterre from the palace.
