Václav Lucemburský was a renowned Duke who ruled Luxembourg from 1353 and Brabant and Limburg from 1355. He earned great fame as a long-time supporter of the celebrated chronicler Jean Froissart, and also made significant contributions as a poet himself. As a masterful composer, he crafted beautiful love poetry in the style of Troubadour, with an impressive collection of 79 poems to his name. The Czech translation of his enchanting lyrical poems by Gustav Francol carries the poignant title "I Do Not Seek Paradise." The Lapidarium of the National Museum features a captivating exhibition titled "The Monuments of Stone Carving in Bohemia from the 11th to 19th Century," which educates visitors on the techniques of mining and the processing of rocks used for stone carving. The exhibition also showcases expert methods for preserving damaged stone artifacts, carefully displayed in introductory cases designed to highlight their significance.
