A replica of the Augustan age comes from a portrait dating back to the 2nd century BCE. Sulla, known as Lucius Cornelius Sulla or later Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix, was born in 138 BCE and died in 79 BCE at Puteoli, near Naples, Italy. He won the first full-scale civil war in Roman history from 88-82 BCE and became dictator from 82-79, implementing notable constitutional reforms to strengthen the Roman Republic during its final century of existence. In late 82 he adopted the name Felix after believing his own luck. This object is part of "Scan The World".
