Nicolae Dăscălescu, a Romanian general, was born on June 29, 1884, near Piatra Neamt. He made a significant financial investment in 1906 but unfortunately failed to gain admission to the School of Artillery, Engineers and Navy. Two years later, he graduated third out of thirty students and received his second lieutenant commission. By 1911, Dăscălescu had been promoted to lieutenant, and during the Second Balkan War, he commanded a battery within the Eighth Artillery Regiment. He was rapidly promoted to captain and led his unit in the forefront of the Fourth Artillery Regiment from 1916 to 1917. In September 1917, Dăscălescu took command of an artillery division and earned the rank of major. This unit participated in the Hungarian campaign in 1919. In 1921, he was accepted into the Superior War School, which he completed in 1923 and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was promoted to colonel in 1929 and took command of the First Artillery Regiment AA in 1931. This object is part of "Scan The World".
