TitleBust of NefertitiArtistUnknownDateNew Kingdom, Dynasty 18, circa 1345 BCMediumLimestone and stuccoDimensionsHeight, 50 cmAccession #Inv.No. ÄM 21300CreditDiscovered in 1915: Amarna, Egypt\r\nConsidered the Sun Queen, she sits in her room at the Egyptian Museum, gazing through the museum's rooms, locking eyes with the statue of sun-god Helios from Alexandria. The bust was created around 1340 BC by court sculptor Thutmose in his studio in Amarna, where Nefertiti posed as a model for the artist. A limestone core received its final form from several layers of stucco on the crown and shoulders, showcasing the unity of individuality between the artist and queen. This expression transcends space and time, bringing immediacy to the artwork.\r\nThis revised bust was scanned and processed by artists Nora Al-Badri and Jan Nikolai Nelles for their project "The Other Nefertiti," aiming to make cultural objects freely accessible to everyone.\r\n\r\nThis object is part of "Scan The World."
