Mycerinus ruled ancient Egypt as its 4th dynasty pharaoh during the Old Kingdom era, with his reign spanning approximately 2550-2530 B.C., lasting between 18 to 22 years. This king's enduring fame stems from his magnificent tomb, the Pyramid of Menkaure at Giza, and his exquisite statue triads showcasing him alongside his wives Rekhetre and Khamerernebty. In these statues, Mycerinus is depicted gazing upward with a serene expression, adorned with the divine beard and royal nemes-headcloth featuring a fragmentary ureaus and queue, his body powerfully proportioned. Crafted from Gneiss (Cephren diorite), this beautifully patterned stone, native to Egypt and frequently used in artworks depicting pharaohs, adds to the statues' grandeur.
