This sculpture presents a portrait of Jesus Christ, God's beloved son and humanity's savior. In contrast to most depictions, he appears less subdued and more confident here, showcasing a more fashionably styled mane. This piece was created by Antonio Begarelli, an Italian sculptor born in 1499 who passed away in 1565. Begarelli primarily worked in Modena, leaving behind numerous churches adorned with his terra-cotta compositions.
