Bust of Charles James Fox
myminifactory
Human: Fox (1749-1806) ranked among the most captivating politicians of the 18th century, a Whig who attempted but failed to narrow the widening chasm between the old aristocratic faction and its newer Radicals. He posed for Nollekens twice in his life, and numerous copies of each bust were produced. Ownership of a Fox bust often served as a badge of Whig allegiance, as seen in Shee's portrait of William Roscoe displayed above the Walker family staircase.
