Angélique D'Hannetaire, a renowned French actress and opera singer, left an indelible mark on the world stage. Born to actor and director D'Hannetaire and his talented wife, actress Marguerite Hue, Angélique's early beginnings were marked by her debut at the prestigious Théâtre de la Monnaie at just 12 years old in La Servante maîtresse by Pierre Baurans, based on Pergolesi's work. Alongside Alexandre Bultos, a fellow student of Ignaz Vitzthumb, music-master of the Théâtre de la Monnaie, Angélique took her first steps into the spotlight. Throughout her illustrious career at the Monnaie from 1766 to 1775, Angélique consistently shone as a heroine in romantic roles and also showcased her impressive vocal talents in opera buffa.
