The Wallace Collection is a renowned public art collection housed in the opulent Hertford House, situated in Manchester Square, London. This majestic townhouse was once the residence of the illustrious Seymour family, Marquesses of Hertford. The collection boasts an impressive array of fine and decorative arts spanning 15th to 19th-century masterpieces, including a significant collection of French 18th-century paintings, intricately crafted furniture, arms and armor, exquisite porcelain, and celebrated Old Master paintings, carefully curated into 25 galleries. Established in 1897, the collection was formed primarily by Richard Seymour-Conway, the 4th Marquess of Hertford (1800-1870), who bequeathed both his estate and the collection to his illegitimate son, Sir Richard Wallace (1818-1890). Upon Sir Richard's passing, his widow left the entire collection to the nation as a lasting legacy. The collection officially opened its doors to the public in 1900 within Hertford House, Manchester Square, and remains there to this day. A significant condition of the bequest stipulated that no object from the collection should ever leave its walls, not even for temporary loan exhibitions. This ensures the preservation of these priceless artifacts for future generations to appreciate and admire. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, aiming to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe, accessible to everyone free of charge.
