This bust of Alexander II is shoulder-length, facing forward, wearing the epaulettes of Nicholas I, on a waist-high socle, with Cyrillic inscription at the truncation. Born in 1818, Alexander II became the son and successor of Nicholas I. The bust may be a commemorative edition created after his assassination in 1881. S. Pimenov and P. K. Klodt, members of the Academy of Arts since 1893, worked alongside Chizhov. He taught at the Central school of technical drawing of Baron Stieglitz in St. Petersburg from 1879 to 1910.
