Bust of a cat

In reading through old blog entries on Thingiverse, I discovered Sculptris and decided to test it out. The second drawing produced was of a cat, similar to the first. There seems to be an issue with internal mesh vertices that can't be resolved using Meshlab or other tools. Does anyone have experience in removing these internal vertices in models?
