Business Card Embosser

<p>A simple form tool to add a little sophistication my business card. &nbsp;I designed it to create embossed (and debossed) areas that match up with the designs on my card.</p><p>I've seen some other embossing tools, but they all use rollers which are more complicated prints, and require a higher level of CAD skills to create. (not that there's anything wrong with cool fancy tools like that, though).</p><p>Update 2022-09</p><p>I created a new design that just adds a simple 0.1" border. &nbsp;Hopefully this will actually be a little more universal. &nbsp;If anyone wants a version for a different sized business card let me know. &nbsp;It would be pretty simple to modify the dimensions. &nbsp;Or you can also just try scaling this model in X and Y to fit your card.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This exact design won't be too useful for others. &nbsp;But I posted this tool as an example to show how you could make something similar. &nbsp;I'll probably release the Fusion 360 file at some point. &nbsp;But it ended up being more complicated than I had hoped. &nbsp;I want to figure out a way to set it up so it's easier for others to modify.</p><p>If anyone has an idea for a generic design that might be useful to many people, let me know. &nbsp;All I could initially think of is to have a bunch of random stars or something. &nbsp;Maybe I could do one with a simple border around the entire card.</p><p><strong>CAD Design</strong></p><p>I started by making a 3.5"x2" rectangular hole to hold the card. &nbsp;I made it an extra 0.004" (0.1mm) around the entire perimeter to make sure the card would go in easily. &nbsp;I used 1/32" (0.8 mm) for the embossing height. &nbsp;The effect is pretty subtle so you could trying increasing that. &nbsp;I haven't played around with different depths. &nbsp;Then I created a surface offset by 0.006" (0.15 mm) and projected the male (top) part of the tool down to this surface.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
