It's simply a modest tweak on the classic "dome base" design. Next, I plan to bond bushings directly onto the dome base using acetone. Updated September 19th, 2015: If you'd rather invest some spare filament, I've developed an alternative modification featuring a 40mm pingpong ball cutting tool. To bring this project to life, approximately four meters of 3D printing material with ten percent infill will be required. For demonstration purposes, an OpenSCAD file has been added as well.
