Burstyn - Motorgeschütz
sketchfab
A brilliant engineer born in Austro-Hungary, Günther Burstyn, created a one-of-a-kind tank as early as 1911 that was specifically designed to conquer trenches of all sizes with ease. The Burstyn Motorgeschütz, though compact, boasted a fully rotating turret mounting a lightweight yet powerful Skoda gun with a caliber of 47 mm (1.85 in), and a crew of just two skilled operators. Its exceptional design advantage lay in its articulated arms linked to the front and rear axles that swung freely across varied terrain using massive coils. By raising these arms when navigating rough terrain, Burstyn ensured his tank could avoid becoming stuck in obstacles with ease, while lowering them to the ground allowed for seamless trench crossing.
