Burr Puzzle (parametric)
thingiverse
A brain-busting challenge for your cerebral cortex and your printer! As well as being an entertaining mental puzzle, this file serves a practical purpose: to test the tolerances of your printer. Two files are included, each with different tolerances. The original file is also provided, complete with parametric variables that define the entire model. To modify the overall size and clearances for each piece, simply open the file in Fusion 360 and navigate to Modify>Change Parameters. By adjusting the tolerance variable, you can achieve a desired level of fit between the pieces. A tolerance of .25 generally results in a loose fit, while .1 yields a good fit, and .05 produces an extremely tight fit. The baseunit variable controls the size of the puzzle, with each piece having an overall volume of 2x2x8 x the baseunit value. Additionally, you can customize the edges by adjusting the chamfer variable, which allows for friendly or sharp corners (a value of 0 enables sharp corners).
