St Peter's students honor fallen First World War heroes Descendants of four village war heroes visit St Peter's School in Burnham on Friday, July 11, to read tributes to their long-lost relatives. St Peter's students with ties to the Hill family remember those who lost their lives in the Great War Pupils from the school in Minniecroft Road participate in the Burnham War Stories project - launched by the Burnham Royal British Legion to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the Great War. Their research delves into the four men from the Hill family who lost their lives in the conflict and whose names appear on the Burnham War memorial. The eldest, Alfred, from Orchard Cottages in Cippenham Green, is killed in action at age 22 with his cousin James, 21. Twin brothers Albert and George both die in 1918 aged 21.
