Burke Pumpjack
grabcad
This 20th scale 3D model represents a Burke pumpjack, which was manufactured by the family-owned machine shop. The shop thrived during the oil boom in the late 1970s when demand for these well-made yet affordable pumpjacks skyrocketed. However, when Churchill introduced a cheaper disposable version, the business faced financial difficulties and went bankrupt. Nevertheless, the success of the pumpjack venture allowed the family to improve their living conditions. The creator of this model has printed a couple on an Ultimaker 2+ using SolidWorks 2016 files and parts from Servocity.com. They used bearings and shafts from PN 5350361, PN 6341142, and PN 634116, an O-ring for the internal pulleys, and a motor model from Sparkfun with a gear ratio of about 11:1. A motor mount and video are being considered as additional features.
