A grater is an essential kitchen tool that slices, grinds, and cuts food into various shapes for even dispersion in recipes. Made primarily from stainless steel or plastic composite materials, graters come in diverse types, such as flat hand/rasp, heavy duty flat, all-purpose box, multi-purpose, and rotary models. I chose an all-purpose grater due to its versatility. However, its plain design detracts from the artistic aspect of cooking, leading to less enjoyable culinary experiences. Inspired by the innovative Burj Al Arab hotel, which exemplifies human drive for improvement and design excellence, my grater aims to combine practicality with striking aesthetics, redefining the boundaries of kitchen tools as a work of art.
