Burial chamber in the Pyramid of Teti at Saqqara
sketchfab
The royal burial chamber within the pyramid of King Teti at Saqqara, dating back to the 6th Dynasty, is a marvel of ancient architecture. Originally, all four walls of this rectangular chamber were adorned with intricate inscriptions known as the Pyramid Texts, which conveyed vital information about the pharaoh's life and legacy. Unfortunately, these ancient texts now only remain visible on two end walls due to wear and tear over time. A comprehensive scan of the area behind the sarcophagus was unfortunately not possible. To create this 3D model, a total of 408 high-quality photographs were taken using a Canon EOS Rebel T5i camera in March 2019. These images were then processed using Metashape 1.5.4 software to generate a detailed digital representation of the chamber. To enhance viewing capabilities within virtual reality environments, the model was carefully decimated to reduce its complexity while maintaining essential features, resulting in a simplified mesh with approximately 275,000 faces and an 8K texture resolution.
