This breathtaking work of Renaissance metalwork proudly bears Filippo Negroli's signature on its browplate, a testament to the master craftsman's exceptional skill in creating armor that was hailed as "miraculous" by sixteenth-century writers and deserving of "immortal merit." Crafted from a single plate of steel and meticulously patinated to resemble bronze, the bowl is raised in high relief with motifs inspired by classical art. The front boasts eyes and an anthropomorphic facial structure, while the brim is finely carved with the scales of a fish, carefully designed to evoke the majestic form of a dolphin. This incredible object is part of "Scan The World," a groundbreaking non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for everyone's access. Scan the World is an open-source community effort, where anyone with interesting items can contribute by emailing stw@myminifactory.com to learn how they can help make this project a reality.
