Burgle Bros Sturdy Braced Tower
thingiverse
Tower for Burgle Brothers designed to be printed on a smaller bed without too many extra pieces. Rather than clipping the legs to the game boards, the tower frame is braced with an interlocking X-frame under each board. Boards have been designed to maximize print area letting you do one board with 2 prints rather than 4 prints. All parts are designed to be printed without supports and without rafts or anything else (this is important as some of these cover almost the entire build plate). BASIC TOWER: ---------------------- A basic tower level consists of 4 legs and a cross-brace, then you can either place a piece of board or use one of the tile holder options below. BBROS_LEG_LG - Longer leg, about an inch longer than the SM leg. These are the brown legs in the photo. BBROS_LEG_SM - Shorter leg, these are the grey legs, you can use this one if for some reason the LG leg is a little too big to print. BBROS_XFRAME - is the cross frame. It consists of a slotted X, 8 pegs, and 4 arms in a single print. Put the legs into the X slot and use the pegs to lock them into place. These then fit into the openings in the legs. OPTIONAL PARTS: -------------------------- BBROS_LEG_BASE - is a short leg and cross-brace holder that you can put on the bottom level so you can add a cross brace to the first level to give it more structure. This is optional, the first level board can also just sit on the table. BBROS_LEG_CAP - extends the top level slightly and is useful for making sure the tile holders stay in place if you use the loose trays option for holding tiles. TRAY OPTIONS: ----------------------- The frame by itself can be used with the above if you just want to use a piece of cardboard or something to hold the tiles. Optionally you can use these trays to keep everything organized. BBROS_TRAY_THK - this is a more solid base that can be used just by itself and spans from corner to corner. 2 wedges are in each print. You can add some paper or other masking material to the bottom to prevent people from seeing the undersides of the tiles. These are stiff enough to work on their own. BBROS_TRAY_THIN - this tray is thinner, uses about 1/2 the plastic and prints in about 1/2 the time. Its better used if you want to glue it to a cardboard or foamcore base while still keeping everything neat.
