Like most board gamers, we have games that don't come with ways to store and organize the components that come with them. (Well maybe plastic bags, but still those can get worn out/ripped/lost.) There are a number of people who design and sell these aftermarket items, but I thought I would design and publish one for my most recent addition: Burgle Bros (by Tim Fowers). So The Burgle Bros game box organizer was born. Firstly, I would like to point out that there might be some similarities with other commercial designed organizers for this game, but really - there are only so many logical ways you can store/slot/stack/arrange things that the ergonomics come out pretty similar. For example, I could have designed a vertical hollow cylinder to store the round tokens used in the game, but then you can't see/count inside such an arrangement, and when you want to get them out, if one gets stuck halfway down it would be impossible (without a lot of banging of it upside down on the table, and who wants that). The same thing for storing and arranging tiles. So don't comment/shoot me down for copying someone else's idea. This design also allows for the manual to be stored in the box like normal, and does not require you to take the insert/space out of the top of the box. The top tray is designed with a slight angle so that it slides in without issues with the lid/insert. It can still be printed in any orientation as the angle is so small it doesn't require any support. Both STL (which work) and OpenSCAD for each part are included. This is version 1.1 since the first version I tried (1.0) was too small to fit them in the first time around (1.1mm too small, dang it). ----- Update 25/11/2016 ---- After using the box for the tokens a number of times, I realized it had issues. So I redesigned the box to have a sliding lid and sides. A picture is included with the old one (white) and the new box half slide open with tokens inside (transparent PLA). STL's provided and original OpenSCAD if you want to modify it for your printer i.e. the lid(top) tolerance variable. If the lid doesn't fit, increase the tolerance, and just reprint the lid; if the lid has too much slop, decrease the tolerance and reprint the lid. I designed this one to fit more tokens of the same size (so not "just enough") so you could use this to store tokens for other games. New files are called BurgleBros2v0, as SCAD, BOT.stl, and TOP.stl. ---------- Update 29/04/2017 ---- Current files you will need to print (older files are there for version/history) are: BurgleBros_top1.stl x1 BurgleBros1v1.stl x1 BurgleBros2v0_top.stl x1 BurgleBros2v0_bot.stl x1 Print Settings Printer: CobbleBot Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: 50% Notes: Note, the bottom tray should be printed on its side, and support for the two boxes (used for the sticks in storage [walls in game]). The reason for this is so that the strata of the print is vertical, thus making it stronger for storing and putting the tiles away. I printed with eSun white PLA at 205 degrees C. Print time was 12 hours for the base, and 8 hours for the top tray parts. Speed was 2400mm/min Sliced with Simplify3d.
