Bundle of Iron Arrow Points, Mleiha, Sharjah

A cache of corroded iron arrow points from Mleiha in Sharjah, UAE is revealed. They were discovered together, a testament to their shared history. Numerous examples have been unearthed, dating back to the 1st Century BCE and spanning into the 1st Century CE. These ancient relics were often found within tombs of that era. According to Overlaet (2018:30-31), CAT No 29, they belong to the GDH group 3. The arrow points have undergone thorough processing in Reality Capture, involving alignment, scaling, modeling, cleaning, simplification, unwrapping, texturing, and meshing of 482 photos. This meticulous work has brought these ancient artifacts into sharp focus. These findings are documented in B. Overlaet's (2018) publication, "Mleiha: An Arab Kingdom on the Caravan Trails," which was showcased at an exhibition in Brussels from October 30 to December 30, 2018, organized by the Sharjah Archaeology Authority.
