Bumper
thingiverse
Hello everyone, here is a shelf bracket bumper crafted from TPU. The intention behind this design was to safeguard my head and back from the steel prongs used in heavy-duty shelving. This was my first attempt at printing with TPU, and I learned that it can be quite challenging due to its exceptional strength. Initially, I printed one of the large faces down, but unfortunately, this led to a need for supports for the massive roof panel. The strong nature of TPU made removing these supports difficult, so I decided to adjust my printing approach by orienting the slit opening upwards (as seen in the image). In addition to its protective capabilities, the bumper features internal tabs that securely lock into a 5mm hole drilled near the end of the bracket, acting as effective retainers. With this project now complete, I'm left with the task of producing approximately 20 more of these bumpers.
