Bullseye Duct 4010 Pipe Mounting Arm Reinforcement
thingiverse
The Bullseye 4010 pipe mounting arms are notoriously weak and susceptible to breaking through their laminations and thin cross sections. A clever solution is at hand, however, in the form of a straightforward doubler support that can be easily installed to bolster these fragile components and make them far less prone to breakage. To create this reinforcement, I loaded the STL file into Cura, duplicated it, then mirrored one of the duplicates to produce a left and right pair of reinforced doubler components. This clever maneuver enables a seamless integration with the original Bullseye 4010 pipe mounting arms. A crucial step in ensuring a strong bond between the reinforcement and the original components is to meticulously sand the mating surfaces. I opted for Loctite Gelled Superglue, which proved to be an excellent choice for this application. To print out these reinforcement doubler components, I employed a 0.1mm layer thickness and a 100% infill setting, accompanied by a brim to ensure stability during the printing process. The resulting Bullseye duct pipe mounting arm reinforcement is a testament to the power of innovation and creative problem-solving. For a visual demonstration of this clever solution in action, be sure to check out the accompanying video at https://youtu.be/YlzqRdg7wos. Please note that subsequent updates to the Bullseye pipe have addressed some of these issues, featuring wider and thicker arms as well as a modified base designed to accommodate these upgraded components.
