This massive bronze sculpture was crafted by Léon Mignon on April 9th, 1847 - September 30th, 1898. Mignon was a Belgian sculptor specializing in realistic depictions of bulls. He established his studio in Paris in 1876 with the collaboration of Paul de Vigne and won a gold medal at the Paris Salon for his sculpture Li Tore (The Bull-Tamer). Many of his sculptures are displayed throughout Brussels, including The Botanical Gardens and The Royal Museum of Fine Arts. This object is part of "Scan the World".
