Bulldog Skull

Bulldog Skull

This is a real challenge to print (pun intended). It's an anatomical model of a bulldog skull, produced from a CT scan, featuring a lower jaw and somewhat simplified for printing purposes. The main goal of this model is to visualize the extreme transformations that breeders have made on brachycephalic breeds like bulldogs. As you can see, the skull is far from symmetrical, and the teeth are positioned at quite awkward angles. These breeds often struggle with breathing difficulties and frequently develop ear infections. Moreover, many of them suffer from deformed vertebrae, a problem that's closely linked to the equally damaging concept of a "corkscrew tail". Many veterinarians strongly believe that these breeds should no longer be bred due to their numerous health issues. http://digimorph.org/specimens/Canis_familiaris/bulldog
