Bull barrel tray for T/CR22 rifle stock with M-LOK slots
thingiverse
This is a replacement barrel tray for the Magpul stock on a Thompson/Center T/CR22 rifle. It has an enlarged barrel opening to accommodate bull barrels. It's also a better free float system for the stock (non-bull) barrel because the bigger opening prevents the handguard from touching the barrel when flexed, such as when loading a bipod. The official solution for bull barrels is to remove the barrel tray altogether, which also removes the M-LOK slots. This replacement tray gives you more clearance for the barrel and allows you to keep the M-LOK slots. I altered the M-LOK slots to be in-line with the bore instead of at the stock 1.8 degree angle. This results in better print quality and should better accommodate lights and lasers, but makes the M-LOK area stand slightly proud at the front muzzle end. The slots are also slightly lengthened to allow for more position adjustments. There are two models. One has a rounded profile that hugs the barrel with 1" clearance, while the shorter one has a chopped top. Depending on how much you flex the handguard you may want to use the chopped top model if you are using a typical 0.92" bull barrel. The chopped top model is also easier to print. To allow printing in typical hobbyist printers the tray is designed to be just long enough (155-158 mm) to incorporate the mounting holes, instead of full length between the front end of the Magpul stock and the receiver. This modification seems to have little effect on the overall rigidity of the handguard.
