Bulkhead Cable Gland Waterproof
thingiverse
The electric anchor winch cable on my 30 foot boat is installed from the anchor well through the V-berth back to the batteries. The first install relied on a seal of Sikaflex applied to the bulkead of the V-berth which of course resulted in water in the cabin. This cable gland which can be just scaled up or down in print software to suit the cable diameter can be installed into a through hole drilled into a bulkhead. Apply Sikaflex to the entry cap and the nut and tighten. Drill out the entry and exit holes in the gland to fit your cable and thread cable through the gland. Inject Sikaflex through the hole in the main thread to fill the gland. Small loops in the cable before entry and after the exit will help prevent tension and possible separation of the Sikaflex from the cable inside the gland.
